Founding Meeting of the North Shore Anishinabek Cannabis Association

Posted in Indigenous Cannabis Meetings, and News

9am-5pm, August 29th, 2019, Atikameksheng Anishnawbek Territory

Across Canada, Indigenous people are exercising their rights to grow, trade, and sell cannabis as a medicine according to their own customs and conventions. The North Shore Anishinabek Cannabis Association has developed on the heels of similar such efforts to self-regulate the cannabis industry in Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory, Alderville First Nation, and Pikwakanagan Algonquin Territory.

We believe that it is time that the Anishinabek on the North Shore of Lake Huron, Georgian Bay, and Manitoulin Island come together to recognize our rights and responsibilities to this medicine, and to the people who require it. We are forming an association to protect ourselves and to help those interested in joining this industry to open stores and grow together in the spirit of self-determination, economic prosperity and freedom.

To register, sign up at and you’ll receive the meeting details, background documents, and meeting agenda.
